Getting Creative

I majored in Graphic Communications in college and have always enjoyed graphic design and editing. Since I don’t get to do much design work at my current job I like to get creative and do things myself every chance I get.

Save the Date

This is a 5 x 7 flat card, printed on flat matte paper and mailed in an envelope.  I always use White House Custom Colour for my printing.  They have tons of paper and finishing options, do great work and I love their packaging!

I edited the photo (cropping and changed to black and white) in Photoshop and laid out the text in InDesign.  I used all sorts of different fonts, a few basic graphics, an engagement photo and included all the necessary info in a little story.

60&Retired

My father-in-law retired then turned 60 just a few weeks later.  Mark and I decided to throw him a surprise birthday/retirement party.  The theme was easy – The Beatles.  Everything centered around The Beatles.  The invitations were titles of Beatles songs.

Engagement Party

My parents threw Mark and I a Fall/Tailgate themed engagement party shortly after we got engaged.  My parents did everything for the party but they did let me design the invitations!

Our wedding colors were pink, so I had to add a pop of pink to the football!

New Address/Holiday Cards

Since we moved right before the holidays I decided to combine our new address announcements with our holiday cards. I think they turned out pretty cute and got the point across!

Now maybe people will stop calling for our new address!

I designed this card in Photoshop (even thought something like this should be done on indesign, I don’t care I just love Photoshop!).  If I’m not doing the printing myself, I’ll order from White House Custom Colour.  I wanted these cards to be cut to the rounded rectangular shape so I chose one of their boutique templates.  These cards were flat and printed 5×7 on Premium Matte paper.
