Although it wasn’t as exciting (or glamorous) as our original California vacation plans, we were very luck to be able to plan a spur of the moment trip to a lake house in Wisconsin for a week. We fished, boated and swam, just what the doctor ordered!
Bright and early last Saturday morning we packed up the car and headed out.
Our first stop was the bakery for doughnuts, because what better way to kick off a much needed vacation.
About an hour and a half into the trip we picked up a straggler. Just kidding – Marks Dad loves to fish so we drove to his house then rode the remaining 4 hours with him.
Mark and I in front of our cabin.
The Hawks were in the playoffs (and WON!) so our first night we went to a bar to watch the game.
This is how I fish. Don’t underestimate the mini pink poles, I caught the most fish this trip!
I went for a run one day (I know, only one – oops). Nothing around, so pretty!
Ice cream cone with heath in it.
We went on a tour of the Leinenkugel’s factory.
We took the boat…
to the bar!
And have you ever had one of these!? I’ve never heard of a grasshopper before but this is my new favorite!
I thought it would be fun to do a little day in the life.
Day in the life of vacation…
Wake up and first stop – coffee
Head to the boat
Drive out to our favorite fishing spot
Cast em out
and start reeling them in!
Head in for lunch
Then spend the afternoon laying out
More fishing in the evening.
Then it’s time to clean the fish.
Vacation Life is rough!
